ABOUT US

The Genocide Relief and Awareness Club was founded at the Univeristy of Pittsburgh in April of 2014. Our membership is dedicated in providing relief and aid to victims affected by the systematic and deliberate atrocities against targeted groups within humanity. Through powerful leadership and building a community of activists, the Genocide and Relief Awareness Club aims make aware the issues of genocide and ongoing humanities issues.

Bio: Noble Smith is a junior from Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He is a political science major with minors in Sociology and German. He is the Awareness Co-chair and joined GRAC because he wanted to be a part of an on campus humanitarian organization. His favorite color is orange and his favorite food is Chicken Tikka Masala.

Bio: I am a student at the university of Pittsburgh class of 2017. I currently want to have a career in International Humanitarian Law. I love having the opportunity to help raise awareness on Human Rights issue not only abroad but domestically as well.  I am so proud of out clubs ability to help refugees that  have been resettled here in Pittsburgh with our Pitt good neighbor project. It brings awareness to Global Issues on a local scale.

Bio: Faith joined GRAC in order to be part of a group of people who truly believe in properly educating people regarding the effects a genocide-ridden country can have on its inhabitants. In addition to this, she wanted to join a group willing to put in the work to bring about change both on and off campus. She aspires to become a pediatrician in the future, and eventually hopes to work in countries where medical resources are scarce.

Bio: I live by my favorite quote "This world is but a canvas to our imagination" (Thoreau). That is why I joined GRAC. I believe that everyone has the capacity to make a positive influence and that joining together is the best way to do so. Wherever my path takes me I hope to be helping others.
